Photograph Exhibition
School Project, 2020
Team Task:
What I did:
My team and I researched and brainstormed on photography as well as home exhibition ideas. We shot and put together a set of 10 photographs based on the topic of domestic abuse for the exhibition. Each of us worked on a specific zone which represents a different type abuse.
We also gathered the necessary logistics needed for the set up of the exhibition (e.g. purple yarn, photo frame, etc).
I researched on relevant information about verbal abuse, including behaviours of both the perpetrator and victim. This has enabled me to gain a deeper understanding of the form of abuse, which has helped me in designing my photographs and exhibition layout for my zone.
Besides that, I was also in charge of designing the overall exhibition layout whereby all zones are connected in an organised and smooth manner.
My team received the best photography award for this exhibition.

What I Learnt:
-
Applying the concept of juxtaposition in this project so as to create an impactful and thought-provoking exhibition.
-
The importance of communication as each zone is connected to one another and the changes made could affect other member's zones such as the arrangement of props.
-
This project has also taught me to become more resourceful. Since the exhibition set up was conducted at our own homes, I needed to source for reusable materials and make full use of the furniture I had.
